When In New York, Consider Dining at Millesime (located in the Carlton Hotel)
New York City. What's there to say? NYC is simply one of the premier destinations for anyone to visit, and it has SO much to offer...including NYC restaurants, upon restaurants, upon restaurants. You get the picture.
Carlton Hotel- home to MillesimeIf you’re going to venture out that way, you will want to soak in the cuisine as much as the lights, the culture, and all that abounds in this mecca of entertainment and culinary delight. Manhattan has such a strong reputation in the arts, music, and of course the restaurants. When traveling through, you’ll want to look into stopping (or staying) at the Carlton Hotel. Located in 92 Madison Avenue, this is one of the spots that houses a unique restaurant with food that is beyond anything you could imagine.
Millesime
The restaurant inside this hotel, Millesime, a gem among NYC restaurants, has many accolades. In 2011, it won several awards from top publications, and continues to get written up in many journals, magazines and more. The various praises that have been given to the restaurant are due in large part to Chef Laurent Manrique, who has figured out how to fuse many wonderful culinary treasures into dishes that are in the French tradition. Each prepared dish focuses primarily on seafood and seasonal ingredients and has a flair that is not often seen on menus today.
From Simple To Complex
Upon exploring the Millesime menu, you will find breakfast, lunch, and dinner all pushed through a variety of different elements. Whether you want something simple and light, something decadent and full of flavor or a refined element of distinction, you'll find it at Millesime. Chef Manrique has paired tastes that are vibrant and full of color with spice and enticements that will inspire. Whether you want to try out the Mussels ‘Escargot’ Style, or you want something a bit more simple like N.Y. Strip Steak, you will be treated to color, taste and so much more with every dish.
If you're feeling a little daring, go for the Escargot! Even my 12 year old daughter did, and let me tell you--that started an intriguing foodie flared fest to the rest of our adventuresome trip. Because, if we eat snails--you never know what we're going to eat next!
Millesime may seem like a world apart, and it certainly inspires, but it’s the accessibility, price, and locale that triumphs here. There’s something intangible here that is worth exploring, and a spot not to miss for anyone traveling through the New York City area.
