Quintessential New York Hotel- the Roger Hotel Delivers

Updated: Aug 31, 2020 · Published: Sep 6, 2016 · This post may contain affiliate links.

The Roger Hotel hosted us for a a quiet retreat with all of the quintessential New York vibe to our stay.

Tucked in a quiet block of Madison Avenue, the Roger provided a nice diversion from the hustle-and-bustle of normal midtown activity.

The lobby was chic New York with exposed brick paired with modern decor and furnishings.

The small bar tucked into the corner of the lobby offered a 4-8pm happy hour and offered a nice selection of wine and beer as we waited for our transportation to arrive.

While we didn't use the cafe or fitness center up the exposed staircase in the lobby, both looked like they provided ample services.

Rooms at the Roger Hotel were also very nicely decorated, and made exceptional use of the space most New York hotel rooms provide.  We especially enjoyed the view of the top of Empire State Building, located about 2 blocks from the hotel, out of our window.

A short walk to Madison Square Park, The Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and the FlatIrons, the Roger was perfectly located for a quick walk to nearby attractions or to grab the subway or short cab ride to anywhere else in Manhattan.

And the rooms--very comfortable by any standard. Check out this video to see what our King room was like.

The staff was all very attentive and responsive to any requests we had. Despite an issue we had with our door lock needing adjustment, maintenance was quick to respond.

The rooms in the Roger Hotel were very quiet. So much so that one of the members of our group ended up cracking the window so we could fall asleep to the sounds of the city that never sleeps. Because after all, if you're in New York...

And always upon return from our day, the hotel provided a quiet New York neighborhood feel that felt very much like we were "home."

If you have any doubt, check out the reviews on TripAdvisor. They are equally positive.
