Double Chocolate Chunk No-Churn Ice Cream

When a chocolate craving hits, this no-churn double chocolate ice cream delivers fast. No ice cream machine needed!

If you're the kind of person who thinks "chocolate ice cream is good, but double chocolate is better", welcome. You’re in the right kitchen. This no-churn double chocolate ice cream is rich, ridiculously creamy, and loaded with mini chocolate chips in every bite. No fancy equipment, no weird ingredients, just straight-up chocolate bliss.

    Why You'll Love This!

    • No special equipment needed. All that's required is 3 simple ingredients and a basic stand mixer (a hand-held will also work).
    • It's endlessly customizable. Simply follow the recipe to make the ice cream base, then try adding cookies, candy bars, fruit, caramel, peanut butter, flavor extracts, or any mix-ins to create ice cream that is perfectly suited to your specific tastes.

    Key Ingredients & Substitutions

Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 oz can) – This is what makes the no-churn magic happen. It adds sweetness and that creamy, scoopable texture without needing an ice cream maker. Stick with the classic—no swaps here.

Cold Heavy Cream (2 cups) – You’ll whip this into soft peaks to give the ice cream its body and lightness. Make sure it’s cold straight from the fridge; it whips faster and holds better.

Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon, optional) – Totally optional, but it rounds out the chocolate flavor nicely.

Chocolate Syrup (1 cup) – Adds rich chocolate flavor and a soft, fudgy texture. Use your favorite bottled brand. Whatever you like drizzled over a sundae works here, too.

Chocolate! I used two King Size Chocolate Bars with Almonds, which I chopped up. The almonds add a salty-sweet bite that takes this to the next level. You could use plain chocolate if you’re anti-nut, but the texture won’t be quite the same. You can also substitute your own favorite candy here for a new twist.

Step #4: Pour sweetened condensed milk mixture back into the bowl with the heavy whipping cream and fold together until smooth and creamy.

Adding the whipped cream to the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup mixture.

Step #5: Pour half of the ice cream into a freezer safe container.

Step #6: Add half of the mix-in, and use a spoon or a knife to swirl the mix-in together with the ice cream (optional).

Mixed no churn ice cream mixture in a bread pan before freezing with mix-ins.

Step #7: Top with remaining ice cream, and then top that with the remaining flavor mix-in.

Step #8: freeze for 5-6 hours, or overnight. When it is time to serve, remove from freezer and let sit on the counter to soften for 5-10 minutes prior to serving. Enjoy!
