The Wisconsin Dells may be known as the Water Park capital of the world but they have a wide variety of other entertainments to keep visitors busy. To me the word dells conjures up images of Tolkien's Shire, the pastoral Middle Earth home of the Hobbits. The word dells actually means a small valley, usually among trees. And this area is a valley--a beautiful glacial gorge , with dramatic sandstone formations along the banks of the Wisconsin River.

With over 30 water parks the Wisconsin Dells lives up to its claim that it has more water parks than any other community in the world. But after your visit to the water park(s) why don't you visit some of the areas many restaurants or theaters. Or maybe you'd like to take in some mini golf or laser tag? Or maybe you are a fan of the great outdoors. Take a boat tour and see the dramatic scenery of the looming sandstone cliffs or take a hike at Rocky Arbor State Park.

In Wisconsin Dells for a sports tournament? It doesn't matter if its basketball or volleyball that's your game, Wisconsin Dells is teaming with facilities to host tournaments. And while the sports facilities can pull off an athletic tournament like nobodies business, you'd best leave it to the pros at Spring Brook Vacation community to host your entire team. Because, if your team is anything like my daughter's basketball team, the most important aspect of the game (next to playing tough defense and scoring points) is hanging out with their friends. The biggest question at the end of the day is always (and I do mean always), 'Who's house are we going to do a sleepover at?" So, grab a couple moms to chaperone, and have a team night in after your big game.

Whether you decide to stay at a chalet, cabin, or lodge all of these homes are comfortable, beautifully decorated, and feel like the home you always dreamed of. You will find all the amenities of home, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, full kitchen, spacious decks, charcoal grills, and all of this is situated along the 9 hole, par 36 regulations golf course.

Along with all of the amenities, there is ample space to spread out and enjoy time with family or friends without stepping all over each other. Everyone in our party commented over and over again about the roominess of the vacation home. It was amazing.

And, in addition to the golf course, Spring Brook has even more entertainments to offer. They have an 18,000 square foot Clubhouse Complex, which just so happens to sport (and sell) a really impressive collection of sports canvases.

The cozy bar is the perfect place to relax on a cold evening, whether for dinner or just to hang out with friends and family.

If you're there at the right time, you might even be in for a little magical entertainment. Let me tell you- the illusionist that was in the clubhouse the night we were there is amazing at card tricks. Amazing.

Or grab a drink at the bar and go hang out by the pool chatting while the teens swim. Its all about having fun with friends, for both the kids and the adults.
