    These 5-Ingredient Chewy Coconut Macaroons are a crowd favorite! Made with only 5 ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry, all you'll need is 10 minutes to mix it all together!

    What are Macaroons?

    A macaroon is a small biscuit or cookie that is typically made from ground up nuts, usually almonds, or coconut. Other flavorings such as honey or vanilla are added to give it sweetness and spices to give it a a particular flavor.

    Macaroons are sometimes confused with the French macaron (or macaroon) which is a meringue-based sandwich cookie that is similarly made from ground almonds or almond powder.

    How To Make 5-Ingredient Chewy Coconut Macaroons Step By Step

    Step #1: Place the top oven rack in the center position and pre-heat oven to 350° F.

    Step #2: Line a large baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper or a Silpat® baking sheet and set aside.

    Step #3: Using a hand mixer, briskly beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

    Step #4: Next, gently fold the honey, vanilla, coconut, and salt into the egg whites with a spatula until thoroughly combined. Do not overwork, but it may require a few folds for the ingredients to start to incorporate with one another.

    Step #5: Scoop heaping tablespoons of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving plenty of space in between to prevent overcrowding.

    Step #6: Transfer the baking sheet into the oven and bake until the cookies become golden brown on top and around the edges, around 12-14 minutes.

    Step #7: Remove from oven, cool for 10-15 minutes before serving and then enjoy!
