I made my first weight gainer high calorie shake years ago when trying to come up with recipes for weight gainer shakes that my son would like. Having a high metabolism can be frustrating when you’re skinny.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Filling – Pumpkin Cheesecake Shake Recipe Shortcut
I’ve been making this Pumpkin Cream Cheese filling for years. If you want a quick recipe shortcut and want to use pumpkin cream cheese on other things, whip up a batch and then add it into your milkshake in place of the cream cheese, pumpkin, sugar and pumpkin pie spice.
I like to make a double-batch of Pumpkin Cream Cheese filling, and then use it on bagels. It’s SO good. And it can always be tossed into a Pumpkin Cheesecake shake.
What Ingredients are Good for High Calorie Shakes for Weight Gain
Use natural high protein ingredients whenever possible when making high calorie shake recipes. This recipe uses whole milk, but you could switch it out for soy milk or almond milk. Other good ingredients for weight gain shakes include: pumpkin, bananas, peanut butter or other high calorie nut butters, protein powders, Carnation Breakfast Essentials, cream cheese, and of course…ice cream.

- 3 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 15 ounce can pumpkin
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- Whipped cream, to garnish
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until well blended.
- Pour into glasses, top with whipped cream and pecans and serve.
To reduce the calories in this shake, use reduced fat cream cheese and fat free milk.
